EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC & MOVEMENT PROGRAM

8 years ago the NSA launched the Music and Movement Class for caregivers and babies (0 to 3) in an effort to bring families together, promote healthy brain development, and encourage music making at the most basic level in the home.

Welcome from Mr P.

Hello, hello. Hello, hello

Everybody say, Hello, hello!

Hello, hello. Hello, hello

Everybody, hello!

Welcome to the Early Childhood Music and Movement Program! I’m so glad you are here!

As a teaching artist, musician, and movement facilitator, I’m honored to accompany you and your child on this magical journey. Whether it is their very first experience with music and movement, or come from a dancing and singing family, this space is for them (and you!) - a place to grow, express, bond as a family and connect through the power of the arts.

The program draws from a variety of traditions and approaches, blending live music, rhythm, games, storytelling, and creative movement. Each session is designed to spark imagination, strengthen coordination, and encourage children to discover their unique voice through song, through play, and through the joyful experience of moving together. And believe me, it's not just babies who have an incredible time in our sessions!

Given my cultural background and education, I appreciate the richness of diversity and the importance of creating spaces where every child feels seen, safe, and celebrated. The arts are a powerful way to nurture not just skills, but self-awareness, confidence, empathy, and a sense of belonging.

Whether your child is shy, bold, curious, or all of the above, the Music and Movement Program is about honoring each student’s individuality and inviting them to participate in a joyful, creative experience.

Thank you for trusting Newark School of the Arts to be part of your child’s early artistic path. I look forward to singing, dancing, sharing and growing together in community.

With joy and music,

Pablo F. Concha
